Emily graduated from U.C Berkeley, with a B.A. in Legal Studies. Soon after graduating, she became a program manager for a leading HVAC engineering company--creating proposals and contracts and facilitating efficient and amicable communication between clients and personnel.
At the same time, Emily was becoming increasingly involved with helping youth in her community. She volunteered in racially and socioeconomically diverse youth centers, where she helped tutor children and create activities to encourage meaningful interactions.
Emily’s experiences eventually led her to combine her passions for teaching and interpersonal communication. She is currently pursuing a M.S. in Counseling degree, while also working as an educator in a dual language public school, in one of the nation’s top school districts.
In the education setting, Emily’s passion and energy have ignited the curiosity and perseverance to learn within the minds of our future generations. She is perceptive to each student’s strengths and necessities and helps students grasp, apply and retain the core concepts in relevant real world applications. In addition to concentrating on STEM concepts in Math and Sciences, Emily infuses Social Emotional Learning (SEL), to promote awareness of how emotions and attitudes affect one’s well-being.
